Third level

[edit]

Whenever anyone familiar with the language finds the time to edit this, I'd suggest significantly paring down & truncating the "Third level" section of the article. Since the reforms, it might only need a short paragraph or two mentioning that there were two levels/tiers of cities (minus the special regional cities) prior to 2020. A lot of that section was probably too much/confusing an explanation before the reform, and now explanation is mostly irrelevant. But, in mentioning the former levels/status, it'd be very helpful to be consistent & clear with the distinction between legal/statistical status and administrative status (district/regional significant), and emphasize the importance of the latter over the former for the purposes of the article. Crimea is still under control of ukraine. 2600:1014:B15D:8539:AD5D:5AD6:70BB:5ED5 (talk) 05:45, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is false. Ymblanter (talk) 07:43, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

First level format correction

[edit]

The format of the "Population density" column of the section "First level" is not correct. The decimal points are erroneously written as commas, making the ranking not work correctly. Can someone please correct this? Windywendi (talk) 19:18, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bilohorivka listed as "de facto capital" of Luhansk Oblast

[edit]

Hello all, I have a problem with Bilohorivka being listed as the "de facto capital" of the Luhansk Oblast. I am intimately familiar with the fact that this was the only location under Ukrainian control in the entire region for some time. However, this does not automatically make it a "capital," de facto or otherwise, without reliable sources saying so. SaintPaulOfTarsus (talk) 22:57, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not just that, but it's not even its own local government, anymore. The article for it says that it's part of the Lysychansk urban hromada. Yes, I agree; I'd remove mention of any de facto administrative center for the time being. Criticalthinker (talk) 11:11, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Currently de facto there is no capital of Luhansk Oblast. I propose just list Sievierodonetsk as a de facto capital in 2014–2022 like in the infobox in the Luhansk Oblast article. --UA0Volodymyr (talk) 04:47, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Urban raion placement in the hierarchy

[edit]

It was a question even before the change in administration law, but it remains the case that the question is where are urban raions in the hierarchy? With the resubordination of cities of regional subordination, the urban raions in those cities certainly aren't on the second level of subordination, which is where they are currently listed in the article. At the same time, in the special cities, they may very well be seen at this level. It seems that the change to the law leaves them not in this extant hierarchy, but on a parallel one. Any opinions on how they should be shown in this article? Because the vast majority of urban raions are subordinate to the hromadas, so if anything, they are at a fourth level. But the ones in the special cities are functionally hromadas, themselves. Criticalthinker (talk) 06:52, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I think this is correct. Ymblanter (talk) 07:34, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, I understand that. I was asking if anyone had an opinion on how the level should be listed in the current article. Because I don't think putting it in the "raion" section and level is the best fit. Criticalthinker (talk) 08:07, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is best to put them in a separate section without mentioning the level number. Functionally, raions of Kyiv and Dnipro are the same, it does not make sense to keep them in separate sections. Ymblanter (talk) 09:03, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
