Port Royal is a toponym for a rural intersection on the north bank of the Annapolis Basin about 8 km (5.0 mi) from the town of Annapolis Royal in Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, Canada.[1] It has no legal status in local government and the postal address is Granville Ferry. This toponym exists only from the 20th century in local and regional maps.

History

Port Royal is known as the birthplace of lawn bowls in Canada, when in 1734 a green was laid by the Garrison of Nova Scotia.[2]
